There will be two tours available during the IAMC Professional Forum in on Amelia Island:
Historic District Tour — South Fernandina Beach ($85)
    Monday, March 5, 2007, 9:00 a.m. — 2:00 p.m.
Hear the story of Don Domingo Fernandez, whose exhilarating dream so moved, so stirred his neighbors that they agreed to move their entire town to the site of a plantation he owned, creating "New" Fernandina in the 1850s. Enjoy the privilege of touring private historic homes and observe the uniquely gracious, yet intimate, room interrelationships of another century. Culminate your visit by dining at one of the quaint downtown South Fernandina Beach restaurants.

Amelia Island Museum of History Tour ($65)

    Tuesday, March 6, 2007,
There are three main parts to this tour — first, find out how the ancient culture of the Indians was swept under by waves of Europeans who sailed into the harbor with vastly different plans for the island's future. Next, imagine 17th- and 18thcentury life on shipboard with historically trained docents as you examine personal possessions, weapons and tools. Delve into Spanish colonial history, an amazing period of time that tied the world together while reshaping it for the future. The third part examines an Amelia Island dig site in the Dorian Dig Room and an exhibit of potsherds, the common denominator of island residents for over 2,000 years. This tour will also culminate in one of the downtown Fernandina Beach water-front restaurants.
