"Evaluating and Refining the Lease-versus-Own Decision"
Research Roundtables are twice-annual special programs exclusively for Active members
to discuss corporate real estate issues selected by Active members. The Corpus
Christi program focuses on the lease-versus-own decision. Participants will evaluate and
discuss the advantages and disadvantages of leasing and owning real estate, including
accounting and tax law issues. A brief number-crunching demonstration will be presented.
The bulk of the program is dedicated to comparing and contrasting how the process works
at participants’ companies, including issues such as corporate culture, tradition, where
the decision is made, real estate’s role, public- and private-company issues, common corporate
assumptions, and other factors that affect the decision. The program will conclude with lunch.
"Leadership Perspectives"
Fall 2005 IAMC Leadership Seminar registrants will have an opportunity to learn from
their peers and acquire skills that will phenomenally enhance memory for years to come.
The 3-hour, invitation-only session will present:
- Perspectives, convictions, and proven "working definitions"that guide leadership
strategies for panelists Charles McSwain, Ed Kelley, Sean Nugent and Scott Reed.
- A look at IAMC’s leadership development progress and aspirations; and;
- Internationally acclaimed memory expert Bob Gray, who will entertain and stimulate
thought as he teaches tangible recall skills. Bob has spent the last twenty years
training corporate, government and professional association workers how to adapt to
memory systems that, for most, equate to more efficient work patterns, enhanced
professionalism and greater profits.
Bob is the author of the best selling book, Right Brain Rapid Recall. When he is not traveling
or developing memory systems, he enjoys playing blues piano, golf and squash. He has
been a guest on "Ripley’s Believe It Or Not,"ABC’s "Regis Philbin,"NBC’s "Today Show,"
CBC and Britain’s BBC 1.
All IAMC Fellow candidates [members, in good standing, who have actively participated in
one or more Leadership Seminars] will receive initial invitations to the Fall 2005 Leadership
