Research Roundtable:
Evaluating and Refining the Lease-Versus-Own Decision

Held twice a year, Research Roundtables are exclusively for Active Members to discuss corporate real estate issues that directly impact them. The Corpus Christi program focuses on the lease-versus-own decision. Participants will evaluate and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of leasing and owning real estate, including accounting and tax law issues. Additionally, a brief number-crunching demonstration will be presented.

The bulk of the program is dedicated to comparing and contrasting how the process works at participants' companies, including issues such as corporate culture, tradition, where the decision is made, real estate's role, public- and private-company issues, common corporate assumptions, and other factors that affect the decision. The program will conclude with lunch.

Take Home Value

  • Determining factors and industry standards for lease-versus-own
  • Accounting and tax law issues
  • Opportunity to bring both your questions and expertise to the table
