The primary purpose of this committee is to grow the Active membership of IAMC. The Committee has developed its own target list of potential members and works tirelessly making phone calls and sending emails. Membership has worked hand in hand with the Marketing Committee to launch successful initiatives, such as the $990 offer, the Recruiters Club, the Honorarium Program and the Multi-Member Discount Program.
In 2002, IAMC started with zero members and a dream. In 2008, the 500th member joined; total membership grew by 12 percent, including a 22-percent increase of the Active members.

As Jennifer and George state: "In the spirit of volunteerism, any committee is only as good as the time its members are able and willing to commit. The word 'committee' is probably a bit of an injustice with regard to our group, as we are extremely proud of our team in every sense of the word."
The Committee is staffed by Cathy Pierce, director of membership development. Cathy's career in association management stretches over twenty years. In 1996, she joined the staff of Conway Data. Cathy has been a member of the Georgia Society of Association Executives (GSAE) since 1990, where she has served on numerous committees over the years. She is past vice chair of GSAE's Leadership Task Group, and is currently serving as vice chair of GSAE's Community Project. Cathy was chosen in 2007 as one of GSAE's "90 Movers and Shakers."
