IAMC Forum Sets Attendance Record
"It's official! The 2009 Fall Forum in Minneapolis will be attended by more Active members than any other Forum in the history of IAMC. The record attendance is a clear testament to the importance of Forum educational content and networking opportunities to our corporate members, especially in these trying economic times. Your attendance will insure that you are not left out of the cutting-edge discussions and face-to-face access to this record number of senior-level decision makers."

Minn. Governor Pawlenty to Address Forum
Tim Pawlenty, governor of Minnesota, will welcome Forum attendees at the Monday luncheon program. An article in Wikipedia about the governor says, "In January 2008, the Minneapolis Star Tribune suggested Pawlenty's renewed focus on his proposed immigration reform plans might be politically motivated as counter-balance to [Senator John] McCain's less favorable guest-worker program. That month it was announced that Pawlenty would be serving in a lead role for McCain as a national co-chair of his presidential exploratory committee, which led to Pawlenty becoming co-chairman of McCain's campaign (along with Phil Gramm and Tom Loeffler). Though Pawlenty was widely considered to be a leading candidate for the vice-presidential nomination on the Republican ticket with John McCain in the 2008 presidential election, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin secured the position. Pawlenty is considered a potential candidate in the 2012 presidential election."

IAMC Emerging Leaders Group Meeting
Attention Active (end-user) members, please consider joining the Emerging Leaders Group if you are under 45 years of age or have less than 5 years experience in your current job. If you meet these criteria, please attend an organizational meeting at the Minneapolis Forum's Monday breakfast. If you plan to join us or have questions, please email Jeb Atkinson or Sarah Roberts. Demographics Task Force members are encouraged to attend this meeting.

The Demographics Task Force, which is responsible for the Emerging Members Group, consists of 15 individuals from the Active, service provider and economic developer membership categories. The Task Force's purpose is to develop a plan to enable IAMC to attract, retain and develop association leaders among young and new, globally-based corporate real estate (CRE) professionals. As part of the plan, Active members assigned as Ambassadors to Emerging Leaders at Professional Forums will be asked to continue in that capacity for a time after the Forum.
