An article in allbusiness.com describes ALHI this way:

ALHI was formed as an association of four- and five-star/diamond hotels and resorts and one transportation company, Delta Air Lines. As its name implies, Associated Luxury Hotels is truly an association:
  • ALHI is a member-service-driven organization with 25 member companies featuring 52 hotels and resorts and one transportation company.
  • Most of ALHI's members are independent hotels and resorts or small luxury hotel companies. ALHI's concept is to join together as a team to "be competitive with the large chains."
  • ALHI has an advisory committee with an elected chairperson.
  • ALHI has its own annual meeting with all members meeting jointly with the ALHI industry advisory council, which is made up of 125 association executives and corporate meeting planning executives.

ALHI's Industry Advisory Council is a think tank for development of strategic solutions to the members' problems. A blog article on mpiweb.org says, "... the elevated thinking and passion for the pursuit of innovative approaches to the future of our industry is energizing. It's clear that meeting professionals and executives are not focused on the 'working harder/longer' approach as THE way through today's uncertainties. Its about re-thinking our strategic role in the business of our businesses and those of our clients to drive BUSINESS PERFORMANCE...and slaughtering a few sacred cows with BIG IDEAS along the way."

IAMC is pleased to recognize Angel for her selection to attend this prestigious conference.
