Greg Long, Corporate Real Estate Director of Hallmark Cards, Inc. and IAMC board member was named IAMC's Top Producer for 2004 during the IAMC Fall Professional Forum in Memphis.

"Greg has always been a great supporter of IAMC and an integral part in the success of our active member recruitment," said Ron Starner, interim executive director of IAMC. "He has made numerous calls to friends and colleagues promoting the association and been directly involved in the recruitment of eight new members."

IAMC recruited a total of 32 active members in 2004.

On Sept. 22, 2004, Joy Pooler, IAMC's sponsorship director and principal of consulting firm Pooler Partners, was re-elected to a one-year term on the board of directors of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).

"The International Economic Development Council is the world's leading economic development organization for professionals working in the field of economic development," says. "Service on this board is an honor," said newly-elected chair Steven J. Budd, "and I look forward to working with Ms. Pooler and the other members to provide leadership to IEDC as the organization continues to offer quality information and outstanding development opportunities."

Cathy Pierce, IAMC's director of membership, was nominated for the Georgia Society of Association Executives (GSAE) Clifford M. Clarke Award in both 2002 and 2003. Named for the late Clifford Clarke, president emeritus of the Arthritis Foundation and the first Georgian to serve as chief elected officer of the American Society of Association Executives, the award honors those who have led an outstanding career of leadership and service to the associations in Georgia.

In November 2004, Angel Fortenberry, IAMC director of event planning, was named one of 60 “Meeting Professionals to Watch in 2005” by Convention South magazine. Each year Convention South magazine receives nominees from around the country and selects the most qualified for the honor. Nominated by the Peabody Hotel Group, Fortenberry was featured in the December 2004 issue of the magazine.
