Networking

“The professional network is number one. I have reached out to our active members to learn about real estate practices in countries that are new territory for me. I have reached out to our associate EDC members to gather data on available sites and state programs. There are a number of associate members from the real estate services industry whom I have worked with, and many more whom I have contacted for advice and information.“

— Doyle Shea, 3M

IAMC Committees

There are many ways to get involved in IAMC, from Forum attendance to online networking year-round, and from taking advantage of IAMC's industry publications to the getting on the leadership track. One way to dive in, get to know other members and really make a difference to the association is through committee work.

IAMC has many committees always looking for a fresh perspective. If you are interested in joining a committee, please contact the staff liaison.

Ode to IAMC

Mark Lofthus performed his "Ode to IAMC" in Minneapolis-St. Paul.

Performed twice and recorded once, this unique parody of "American Pie" entertained 300 people at the Mill City Museum while capturing the essence of the unique appeal of IAMC. If Mark ever moves on from Positively Minnesota (and we hope he doesn't), he certainly has a future as a singer/songwriter. Look out, Billy Joel, Elton John and Paul Simon.

Attend a Forum

“What I like about IAMC [Forums] is being able to meet with end users like myself in a setting that is small and enjoyable without feeling overwhelmed by vendors and large crowds.“

— Van Baker, Norfolk Southern Corp.

“At a Forum I attended, a colleague shared a project with me that was an absolute failure. That information provided great direction on a project I was presently involved with, and allowed me to avoid some pain and suffering and costs.“

— James G. Doyle, ConAgra Foods, Inc.

“The focus of the Forums is in alignment with what is happening in the industry, and they provide a great opportunity to gain knowledge and learn from the experience of others ...“

— Tom Eickhoff, KLA-Tencor Corp.

“The peer-to-peer sessions at the Professional Forums are invaluable. There is always a way to build a better mouse trap.“

— Melissa Bauer, Quad/Graphics

Honorarium

“I was lucky enough to be chosen by the IAMC Board of Directors for the Honorarium Program, so I am just now getting familiar with all that the organization has to offer - it's very exciting!“

— Kara Swedberg, Amylin Pharmaceuticals
