U. S. Green Buildings Council (USBC) certified trainer Kim Chamness will offer guidelines for:
- Making industrial facilities more sustainable
- Optimum application of limited sustainable resources
- Using specific products to LEED certify industrial buildings
- Improving indoor air quality, environmental conservation, and energy and water efficiency
Kim Chamness, an Associate Principal at Perkins+Will, is the Atlanta Sustainable Design Leader, a member of the firm's Sustainable Design Initiative and the Green Operations Plan Committee. He is a board member of the Atlanta Chapter of the USGBC. He has overseen the greening of the office's day to day products, including the use of 100% recycled copy and printing paper to replacing the cleaning and restroom products to more environmentally appropriate products. As an architect he has been concerned with specifying products that are not only more sustainable in nature to products that contribute to health and welfare of the occupants.
Kim has been involved with numerous LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) architectural projects, including Georgia Tech's Institute of Technology's Klaus Advanced Computing Building, Atlanta, GA; Haworth's Furniture Showroom in New York, NY; CDC's Building 106, Atlanta, GA; Darden Restaurants Headquarters in Orlando, FL; Paideia School in Atlanta, GA and Woodward Academy's Science Building, Atlanta, GA.
