Alternative Disposition Methods for Surplus Corporate Real Estate

With the economy in low gear and many corporations delaying investments in new and existing plants, the market for surplus and underutilized facilities is shallow in many areas. These properties can be hard to sell, and keeping them from deteriorating can cost the corporate owners dearly. Certainly, the structures should be listed with a broker but, for many, more aggressive action will be needed to move them. This article reviews several well-known alternative disposition methods and provides links to Web references on each.
