On the agenda for discussion is the controversial reforms to the Electricity Industry Law which aims to strengthen Mexico’s power capacity. The reform would prioritize the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE)) over private business within the energy industry to guarantee Mexico's power sovereignty. Benjamín Torres-Barrón, Principal at Baker & McKenzie and leading Partner of the Energy, Mining and Infrastructure practice for the firm along with José María Lujambio I., Partner & Energy Practice Director with Cacheaux, Cavazos & Newton will discuss and debate the recent amendments to the Law, the impact and new landscape for the power producers and offtakers including the scope of the changes to the PIL and implications to the industry; current challenges and opportunities in power generation and offtake and the energy transition and market growth of clean energy and renewable technologies following these regulatory changes. More programme information coming soon but don’t delay and register today for what promises to be a powerful discussion on the issues facing the industrial and manufacturing sector in Mexico today!
