The American River Parkway Foundation (ARPF) is a Sacramento 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization whose mission is to lead and inspire the community to conserve and nurture the American River Parkway as a unique, accessible resource for everyone to enjoy. The ARPF vision is for the American River Parkway to be one of the nation’s premier urban natural parks.

The American River Parkway has over a dozen access points. These access points feature areas to fish, swim, kayak, or run, as well as paint, relax, or watch a sunset. The paved Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail runs the length of the Parkway and beyond while a separate multi-use dirt trail meanders near the bike trail from Discovery Park to Nimbus Fish Hatchery and into the Folsom Lake SRA.

This year's project will be a clean up of part of this riverway and trail system.

During the event:

  • Please wear sturdy/comfortable closed-toe shoes, long pants, a hat, and sunscreen.
  • ARPF will provide supplies, gloves, extra water, and snacks. We do recommend that you bring your own water, and you are welcome to bring your own trash grabber.
  • There is a restroom at this location.
  • Depending on the time of year, this location may be overgrown or muddy. Be prepared to get dirty!
  • For the safety of our volunteers, ARPF volunteer events are subject to cancellation in the case of weather, flooding, and other natural causes. Participants will be notified in the event of a cancelation.
