CONNECTCRE.COM—The seller is calling it the largest multi-building industrial business park sale in Arizona’s history. And at $184 million, they might be right. Prologis bought Airpark Logistics Center in Goodyear, AZ from Creation, gaining 1.4 million square feet of leasable space that sits on 170 acres. And that’s just Phase 1. Phase 2 comprises 84 acres of build-to-suit land. When complete, Airpark is expected to pace out to 2.7 million feet.

COMMERCIAL PROPERTY EXECUTIVE—Consumer-products maker Conair has inked a 10-year deal for 2.1 million square feet in Hagerstown, MD, within Mid-Atlantic Crossing, a Trammell Crow property. Binswanger helped push the deal over the finish line, assisting the tenant with site selection, including local labor analytics, and lease negotiations. Binswanger was also critical in the redesign of the tenant’s spaces, reportedly converting what was intended to be two separate, one-million-square-foot warehouses into one contiguous space. Conair products include Cuisinart, Conair and Waring.

TRUCKING DIVE—Autonomous truck shipping is happening in routes between Houston and Oklahoma City, the result of a JV between A.P. Moller–Maersk and Kodiak Robotics. Currently, the initiative involves one truck delivering eight loads a week, with a safety driver on board. Kodiak anticipates removing the safety driver sometime next year. The plan also fits in with Maersk’s goal to expand into end-to-end logistics.

IAMC CORNERSTONE—"ESG programs . . . should be integrated into a leadership position in an organization’s overall program.” So says Hickey & Associates’ principal Kevin Dollhopf in the first of the firm’s series on Environmental, Social and Governance protocols. And why should it take such an important position? “ESG continues to grow in significance to companies for their investors, customers, suppliers and employees,” Dollhopf writes, “and is now being used to enhance due diligence efforts for real estate portfolio management, corporate M&A activity, site selection, and overall corporate compliance.” The C-Suite, he concludes, recognizes the need for tools and processes for ESG analysis. What’s more, corporate real estate managers can perform as “functional integrators on ESG.” Click the link to find out how.
