President’s Foreword - Signs of Strength
By J. Tate Godfrey, CEcD, President & CEO
We all know the real estate cliché “location, location, location.” What is the professional association equivalent? “Value, value, value.”
As a professional trade association, IAMC must continuously and rigorously deliver value to our members, sponsors and event attendees. In short, our strong value proposition is vital in attracting and retaining members across all categories who could choose at any moment to spend their time and resources elsewhere.
Further, in addition to providing the value, we must also track and proactively share the stats and KPIs with our members. This both helps keep the benefits of IAMC membership top of mind and also provides resources to you – our members – as you work to justify IAMC membership to your own internal leadership.
Here are some KPIs that jump out to me:
Membership. IAMC has more corporate members today than at any other time in its history. We are on track to have record years in both recruitment and retention, the 3-year waitlist for new associate members notwithstanding.
Sponsorships. IAMC is blessed with a loyal base of sponsors who find ongoing value in raising their organizations’ profiles within IAMC. You can see this across all levels and events, especially at the Spring Forum where we exceeded our sponsorship goal and within the Chairman’s Circle where we have had zero turnover in the past four years.
Event Attendance. As a testament to both our professional development and networking offerings, IAMC set an attendance record at the 2024 Spring Forum with 521 total registrations including record-level
corporate and CREA attendees (122 total). We are seeing similarly impressive numbers for the upcoming 2024 Fall Forum in Quebec City.
I hope you will agree that IAMC is continually improving and growing and consistently offering quality resources and benefits. That said, I would like to thank you for your continued support of and investment in IAMC. We know you have many options for professional association affiliation, and we are both proud and grateful that you choose IAMC.
Tate.
